Holiday Festivities! Santa visits, Christmas caroling and more

In the beginning of December we made Christmas cards and cookies for the troops in Afghanistan. This was a great opportunity for everyone to learn about our own and other countries. We discussed the distance between our school and Afghanistan, and how our letters would be transported to the troops. We also talked about the fact that many troops are not able to spend Christmas with their families, and have not seen their families in many months. This really resonated with the kids; they put a lot of love into their cookies and cards!

Everyone was very excited to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas...

Ben: "Spider-man and Batman costumes, and a castle!"

Nile: "Giants and Ninjagos with a case."

 Nahya: "Flying pony."

Harrison: "Red Samurai Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers."

Brogan: "Barbie, horse, Supergirl and Catwoman costumes."

Ava: "Barbie, and Wonder Woman costume."

Ivana: "Princess toy, horse, Princess costume."

Declan: "Pop-up Car."

 Charlene: "Wonder Woman costume."

Lucinda: "Catwoman costume and a scooter."

Jace: "Helicopter that can fly!"

Saraiah: "Princess and Barbie."

Harman: "Monster truck."

Geralynn: "Barbie castle."

Will: "Flying plane and caramel maker."

Natalie: "The Wizard of Oz movie, Cinderella dress, and a cotton candy maker."

We went Christmas caroling through the Center and gathered in the gym with our sack lunches!
